We recently picked up a Polaris RZR XP Turbo S Velocity for some long-term testing. ATV.com test drivers Casey Cordeiro and Jessica Kline decided to take a little video showing off some of the key features of the new Velocity and explain what makes it different from the regular Turbo S.
In case you are unfamiliar, Polaris unveiled the RZR XP Turbo S Velocity in late January as a more affordable alternative to the Turbo S.
While the two Sport UTVs share a lot more in common than not, the Velocity is almost $3,000 cheaper. This despite some newer, stronger axles, high-clearance control arms, and a drive system that is said to be 300% more robust. The Velocity also has improved cooled, 25% more power steering assist, and a redesigned clutch box that allows for better air flow.
The money savings comes largely from simplified shocks. The electronically adjustable shocks on the Turbo S are replaced by Walker Evans Velocity shocks at all four corners. But these aren’t some budget shocks. The rear shocks are a beefy three inches and you’ll find high- and low-speed compression adjustability front and rear.
As for similarities, the RZR XP Turbo X Velocity shares the same 925cc ProStar Twin cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower. It is also equipped with massive 32-inch ITP Coyote tires, which help bump up ground clearance to 16 inches.
