Swincar E-Spider an Electric Off-Road Vehicle Like Never Before + Video

Some talented folks in France have built what looks to be the coolest electric off-road vehicle we’ve ever seen.

The Swincar E-Spider features four-wheel independent suspension with articulating arms that give this vehicle spider-like movement. Each wheel is powered by its own 1 or 1.5 kW motor, offering up instant torque to climb over seemingly anything. A battery pack is located under the driver’s legs with 2, 4 or 6 kWh storage. A steering wheel  turns the front and rear wheels in opposition.

Makers of the Swincar E-Spider boast it can ride up or down 70% grades and across 50% grades. The mere thought of riding down a 70% grade hill in anything puts butterflies in our bellies.

Check out the Swincar E-Spider in action in the video below. The company, created by Pascal Rambaud, Jerome Arsac, and Thierry James, says it is nearly ready for production. As you might expect, it is looking for investors.
