Three-day ride in Oak Ridge, Tenn. coming in April
Looking for something to do in April? How about joining veteran trail hosts Harlan and Bev Mannigel of Polaris Adventure Tours for a three day ATV ride in Oak Ridge, Tennessee?
The Mannigels are an experienced husband-wife tour team who have hosted a variety of powersport tours. Their newest tour opportunity gives you a trailside look at unique Tennessee landscapes.
Although sponsored by Polaris Industries, the tour is open to all ATV makes and models. The Oak Ridge Tour gets underway Sunday, April 26, with riding scheduled for the following three days. Check out will be Thursday, April 30.
This Polaris-sponsored tour of Oak Ridge, Tenn., is open to riders of ATV brands.Sunday is set aside as the “arrival” day note the Mannigels. “About 5PM, we’ll gather in the cocktail lounge for introductions and a question & answer session. After that we’ll get to enjoy some local southern cooking. The rest of the evening is free.”
Riding begins Monday morning and continues through Wednesday. The schedule for each of the three days will be more or less the same, explains Harlan Mannigel. “We’ll have breakfast at 7:30 and be ready at 8:30 AM to trailer about eight miles to the trailhead. Our riding each day will take us about 60 scenic miles of trails and overlooks.”
One of the planned sights will be an overlook of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Wind Farm. Mannigel calls this a “distant stop,” as the overlook is as close as you can legally get to the Wind Farm. This wind farm produces enough electricity for more than 3000 homes
While the trailhead will have restrooms for the ladies, there won’t be any restaurants during the day. Each rider will need to bring snacks and lots of bottled water.
“We will have plenty of camera time and stops to just shoot the breeze,” Harlan adds.
Around 4:30 PM each day, the group will head back to Oak Ridge for dinner is at 6 PM. While the schedule for the following days will be the same, the trails will be different.
The cost of this adventure tour is $550 per person based on double occupancy. If you have three or four people in the same room, your cost is $500 per person. If you prefer single occupancy, your cost will be $700. For the quoted amount of money, you will get four nights lodging, four evening dinners, three breakfasts, a keepsake nametag, a commemorative Henley shirt, guide fees and all related taxes and food gratuities.
