R-Spec SE offers features never seen before on a Wolverine
For 2017 Yamaha has continued the evolution of its lineup of Wolverine UTVs. The lineup is split up between the Wolverine R-Spec models and the more budget-friendly Wolverine models.
Wolverine R-Spec
The flagship of the family is the Wolverine R-Spec SE – the most feature-rich model in the lineup.
Dressed in Matte Silver, the Wolverine R-Spec Special Edition boasts color-matched seats and springs, soft-grip over-mold steering wheel and under-seat storage. Polypropylene overfenders are designed to protect the UTV and its occupants from the elements.
Providing even more protection are full-coverage aluminum skid plates, including a front bash plate, rear and side frake skids and aluminum A-arm guards. Further setting the R-Spec SE apart are 12-inch beadlock wheels.
Retail price for the new R-Spec SE is $14,799.
Yamaha outfitted every 2017 Wolverine R-Spec UTV with electronic power steering. Four colors are available, including Alpine White with cast-aluminum wheels ($13,499), Yamaha Blue with cast-aluminum wheels ($13,499), Hunter Green ($13,199) and Realtree Xtra Camo ($13,799).
Wolverine
As for the non R-Spec Wolverines, Yamaha aimed to pack a lot of value into this UTV. Prices start at $10,999 for the base model ($11,599 for Camo). You can upgrade to an EPS model for $11,999 ($12,599 for Camo), while the Yamaha Blue EPS model with cast aluminum wheels retails for $12,299.
Wolverine Family Features
All Wolverine models are powered by the same 708cc single-cylinder engine that pumps out a claimed 47 horsepower. Another shared feature is front and rear independent double wishbone suspension controlling 9.7 inches of travel up front and 10.6 inches of travel in the rear. R-Spec Wolverines offer fully adjustable suspension, while non R-Spec models only offer preload adjustability.
Other shared features include Yamaha’s Ultramatic continuously variable transmission, On Command four-wheel drive, 1,500-pound towing capacity, 300-pound cargo-bed capacity, 9.7-gallon fuel tank and digital instrumentation panel.
