Fully enclosed and heated cab takes Defender to a new level
The Can-Am Defender impressed us enough to name it our favorite Utility UTV of 2015, but what if you could make this hardworking machine and versatile machine more comfortable when the weather takes a turn for the worse? BRP has done just that with the new Can-Am Defender XT Cab, which is on the way to Can-Am dealerships.
Outfitted with the XT Cab package, this Defender comes equipped with a complete hard cab, along with integrated heater and electric windows.
The XT cab enclosure includes a hard plastic roof to protect occupants from the elements, as well as a cab liner for additional insulation.
A three-position full glass tilt-up windshield is also included in the package, which features a wiper washer kit. Additionally, rear glass with sliding opening allows for access to the bed and ventilation.
Northern consumers will appreciate the integrated heater kit with 10 adjustable vents. If you plan on using the Defender for plowing duties or as a hunting companion on a cold day, a heated cab can make your day much more comfortable.
Completing the XT Cab package is a pair of hard doors. Not only do the doors keep out the elements and protect occupants from rain, mud and trail debris, but they feature electric opening windows so users can adjust the ventilation to a comfortable level.
The XT Cab package is only available with the larger HD10 engine, fuel injected V-Twin that produces a claimed 72 horsepower and 61 lb-ft of torque.
Other features of the XT Cab package include 4,500-pound Can-Am Winch, dynamic power steering, 27-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires, 5.6 gallons of under seat storage, open dash with removable toolbox, three driving modes (Eco, Normal, Work), full skid plate, Pro-Torq transmission, front steel bumper, 2,000 pounds of towing capacity and 1,000-pound capacity cargo box.
The 2016 Can-Am Defender XT Cab starts at $23,699.
