New flagship RZR features Dynamix Active Suspension
Polaris has taken the covers off of its 2018 off-road lineup and the centerpiece is the new 2018 Polaris RZR XP Turbo EPS Dynamix Edition.
Engine: 925cc turbo-charged Twin
Power: 168 horsepower
Front/Rear Suspension Travel: 16/18 in.
Weight: 1,500 lbs
MSRP: $25,999
“RZR Dynamix Active Suspension is an industry first innovation that redefines the riding experience,” Polaris says in a release. “Dynamix is the world’s first and only intelligent suspension system designed for off road.”
According to Polaris, the Dynamix system monitors critical driver and vehicle inputs 200 times per second, allowing it to continuously adjust each individual shock on the fly.
“Whether the vehicle is cornering, braking, accelerating, changing speeds or airborne, the system adjusts the suspension for the best response to driver inputs and terrain,” says Polaris. “These continuous changes give riders more performance without sacrificing a comfortable ride.”
Using Polaris’ Ride Command system, which was introduced last year, drivers can monitor the suspension control system status, which includes compression dampening, selected mode, g-force, pedal position, steering angle, brake status and diagnostics.
Additionally, the driver has cockpit control over the suspension’s baseline settings. Once the driver selects Comfort, Sport or Firm settings, Dynamix adjusts from there. This is how Polaris describes each of the three settings.
- Comfort: More plush than any other ride in the industry. Designed for cruising around and eliminating the small chatter.
- Sport: The ultimate blend of performance and comfort for high-speed handling.
- Firm: Cranks all four shocks to max stiffness for the firmest suspension in the industry. Designed for extreme encounters and nasty terrain.
This flagship RZR also comes with a new 900-watt charging system that is designed to improve charging and allows for better accessory integration.
The 2018 Polaris RZR XP Turbo EPS Dynamix Edition carries an MSRP of $25,999.
