American Honda, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, has issues a recall notice two 2012 Honda FourTrax Rancher ATV models due to a potential crash hazard. Honda is aware of four incidents of suspension arm weld failures, including one in which a rider suffered a sprained wrist.
According to a recall notice, a weld on the front right upper suspension arm can separate, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The recall affects both the TRX420TE and TRX420TM. A total of 2,900 units are involves in the recall and were sold at Honda ATV dealers nationwide from Sept. 2011 through Jan. 2012 for between $5,100 and $5,300. All of the affected ATVs were manufactured in the United States.
Consumers are asked to immediately stop using these ATVs and contact their Honda ATV dealer to schedule a free repair.
