Yamaha honored twice by Field & Stream

Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A. has earned two of Field & Stream magazine’s 2008 ‘Best of the Best’ awards for off-road vehicles.

The Grizzly 550 FI with electric power steering (EPS) was honored in the ATV category, while the Rhino 700 FI was recognized in the side-by-side (SxS) category. This is the first year the publication’s editorial staff handed out separate awards for an ATV and a side-by-side vehicle.

“Yamaha is extremely proud to be named ‘Best of the Best’ for both the Grizzly 550 and Rhino 700 by Field & Stream magazine, one of the most recognized and respected names in the outdoor industry,” says Steve Nessl, marketing manager for Yamaha’s ATV/SxS group. “Yamaha is more involved in the outdoor community than any other ATV manufacturer, and that helps us stay in touch with outdoorsmen’s needs.

The Grizzly 550 FI EPS was just released this summer.

“The people at Yamaha who develop these vehicles make them the toughest, most versatile and off-road capable ATV and SxS vehicles and that shows in the reviews and awards we have received. We’re excited to win the first-ever ‘Best of the Best’ SxS category as well as our second in the ATV category – especially in the same year.”

The Rhino 700 FI is a favorite of hunters and fishers.

The Grizzly 550 FI was introduced this summer as Yamaha’s all-new utility ATV. The new Grizzly boasts many of the same features as the big bore Grizzly 700 FI, which also earned a ‘Best of the Best’ award in 2006. The Rhino 700 FI first entered the off-road scene last fall.

The 2008 Field & Stream awards are featured in the September 2008 issue of the magazine.
